Libre Grow

Administration

The Admin Dashboard gives Hub Leaders the tools they need to manage users and monitor the health of their Libre Grow instance. Access it from Growing → Admin Dashboard. You must have admin privileges to see this menu item.

Who Has Access

Only users with the Leader role (or those explicitly granted admin status) can reach the Admin Dashboard. Regular Members and Managers will not see the menu item. If you need admin access, ask a current Leader to promote you.

User Management

The Users page lists every registered account. From here you can:

  • View all users — browse the full list with columns for name, email, role, and last-login date.
  • Toggle admin status — grant or revoke admin privileges for any user. For example, you might give a trusted fellow grower admin rights so they can help manage a large community garden Hub.
  • Deactivate an account — temporarily disable a user's access. Their data is preserved, but they cannot log in until reactivated. This is useful if a member leaves the garden group for a season and you want to tidy up active accounts.
  • Reactivate an account — restore a previously deactivated user. They regain full access and all of their Activities, Elements, and Journal entries remain intact.

Health Check

The Health Check page provides a quick overview of platform status:

CheckWhat It Verifies
Database Confirms the database connection is active and responding.
File Storage Verifies that uploaded photos, share card images, and attachments are accessible.
Background Jobs Checks that scheduled tasks (such as share card generation and email notifications) are running.
Application Version Shows the current Libre Grow version so you can confirm you are up to date.

Best Practices

  • Keep the number of Leaders small — one or two per Hub is usually enough.
  • Review deactivated accounts periodically and remove any that are no longer needed.
  • Run the Health Check after updates or server changes to catch issues early.

The Admin Dashboard is intentionally simple. It covers the essentials — user control and platform health — so you can spend less time on administration and more time in the garden.
