Search
Libre Grow's global search lets you find anything on the platform in seconds. Whether you are looking for a specific Activity, an Element you recorded last season, or a grower who specialises in companion planting, search has you covered.
Accessing Search
The search bar is always visible at the top of the page. Click it or press / on your keyboard to focus it instantly. Start typing and results begin appearing immediately.
What Gets Searched
A single query searches across every major area of the platform:
- Activities — find a soil pH test you ran in April or a compost turning session from last week.
- Elements — locate a specific tomato variety, a compost batch, or a soil sample by name or tag.
- Methods — discover step-by-step guides like Seed Saving: Tomato or Hot Compost Monitoring.
- Hubs — search for community groups by name or description.
- People — find other growers by name, location, or expertise tags.
Search Suggestions
As you type, a dropdown of suggestions appears below the search bar. Each suggestion shows a title, a type badge (for example, Activity or Method), and a brief snippet of matching text. Click a suggestion to jump straight to that item.
Full Results Page
Press Enter to open the full results page. Results are grouped by type, with a count badge next to each group heading so you can see at a glance how many Activities, Elements, Methods, Hubs, or People matched your query.
Filters
On the full results page you can narrow your results further with filters:
- Type — show only Activities, Elements, Methods, Hubs, or People.
- Date range — restrict results to a specific period, such as the current growing season.
- Hub — limit results to a single Hub, useful when you belong to several groups.
- Tags — filter by tags like permaculture, composting, or seed saving.
Combine filters to drill down quickly. For example, searching for "pH" filtered to Activities within your Community Garden Hub during March 2026 returns exactly the soil tests you need.
