Sector Analysis

Map the external energies that flow through your site — sun, wind, water, fire risk, noise, views, wildlife corridors.

Steps:

1. On a site map, draw arrows showing prevailing wind direction by season
2. Mark the sun arc for summer and winter solstice
3. Identify water flow patterns (rain runoff, natural drainage)
4. Note fire risk sectors (bushfire-prone areas, fuel loads)
5. Mark noise sources (roads, neighbours)
6. Identify good and bad views
7. Map wildlife movement corridors
8. Overlay sectors to identify opportunities and challenges
