Frequently Asked Questions
Is the platform really open source?
Yes. The entire codebase is published under AGPL-3.0. Anyone can self-host their own instance for free. Your subscription pays for the hosted infrastructure at libregrow.org and the collective community data that makes the platform valuable.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data stays. You can always view and export your existing records in open formats (CSV). You just can't create new activities or observations until you resubscribe. We never delete your data.
What's included in the 90-day trial?
Everything. Full recording access, provenance tracking, share cards, journal — the complete Grower experience for 90 days. Take the free course, build your garden records, share on social media. No credit card required.
Can I pay annually?
Yes. Annual billing saves 17% compared to monthly. You can switch between monthly and annual anytime.
How do Hub and Organisation plans work?
The Hub leader subscribes and all members get recording access. Hub plans support up to 20 members. Organisation plans are unlimited — perfect for community farms, schools, and councils.
Is peer reviewing really free?
Yes, always. Peer reviewing is community service — it makes everyone's designs better. You can review others' portfolios even on the free plan.
